Y Must I Go To NYC?

I was super excited today after receiving an e-mail from the regional office regarding volunteering for the YMCA event. I replied to the invitation right away and told them I'll be there. But my excitement turned into disappointment when I remembered that I'm going to New York on the 28th and the event is the 29th of this month...Argh! How great would it be to be a part of Invention Convention? I wanted to go so badly but I already bought my ticket. If I had known about this event earlier, I would've rescheduled my vacation – this is one of the saddest moments in my life but I'll recover (perhaps). If you guys have time, I encourage you to attend – it's free! I'll be in New York and be thinking about Thingamajig...

I used to be a member of Science Club when I was in elementary school in fact I was the secretary of the club. My childhood dream was to create a robot (haha!). In high school, I was selected by my teacher to participate in Science Fair together with two other students. My group created floor wax out of okra leaves. I'm not sure how we got the idea but it was a complete failure and we ended up adding paraffin wax to alter the viscosity of the solution. Of course we did not win (and thank goodness we didn't) but it was a lot of fun. I hope my science teacher didn't notice the foreign substance.
